Make plans now to attend "StringTime in the Smokies." StringTime is August 5 - 6, 2011 and takes place in the area surrounding Pigeon Forge's Old Mill and Patriot Park. The 2-day event features
some of the area's finest Appalachian musicians, pickers, crafters, and artisans who demonstrate their skills and share their
knowledge with Pigeon Forge visitors.
The weekend events will begin with “Jammin” from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Friday.You can bring your instruments and join in on the fun. Will Tate and Six Mile Express will be performing later in the evening.
Saturday will kick off with the 2nd annual Smoky Mountain Cornhole Tournament at 11:00 a.m. presented by The Old Mill and Co-Sponsored by WDVX. First prize for the tournament is $1000 so be sure to sign up! Download the Cornhole Tournament Flyer. The evening bluegrass performances will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Writers Round featuring Jay Clark, Cary Van Eaton and Jeff Barbra at 7:00 p.m. and Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time at 8:00 p.m.
Mountain Music fills the air from performers on stage to breakout jam sessions where everyone gets into the act. A variety of old-fashioned games can be enjoyed by all ages, and antique farm equipment brings another taste of nostalgia to the event.
Don’t forget the stick-to-your-ribs great food that can be enjoyed at outdoor picnic tables making StringTime in the Smokies is a celebration of American music. It is the perfect way to spend a couple of days in the Smoky Mountains. Admission is free and food and beverages vendors will be on site.

At 12:00 NOON, Community Radio Station WDVX will be live in front of Pottery House Cafe & Grill. WDVX will broadcast their show entitled " Blue Plate Special." WDVX is a not-for-profit community radio station that is supported by donations from listeners.
